Share

A giant red octopus has descended on a children’s playground in Shenzhen, China, but fear not, it’s fun and adorable. Dubbed Kraken,
Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman created the whimsical red play structure to the delight of both children and adults.

Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman (previously producing this large rabbit in Taiwan), the newest large-scale animal design, this time in the center of Yantian, Shenzhen Vanke Group announced a Playscape function for a City Development. Play ground, designed at the foot of an octopus and eight feet, despite the intimate appearance of the mythological sea creature A piece named after Kracken. The octopus helped Hofman realize his imaginary works. Designed alongside the UAP team, it plays the history of the area that previously housed a battleship at its port. Kracken is now positioned as a place for creative play rather than attacking other sailing ships at sea.
